PET belongs to the polyester family. It is a thermoplastic resin whose transparency, resistance and non-permeability characteristics makes it useful for the production of beverage bottles and bowls. It is also used to make films, tubes, blister packages, containers, packaging and labels. PET recycling gives new life to the plastic, transforming it into new bottles and many other objects. For example: a sweater can be made with ten PET bottles, a polar fleece blanket with 20, a polar fleece sweatshirt with 27, and batting for a double-bed duvet with 67. PET plastic is introduced into the system, crushed, ground and pulverized.
