Recent Installation of a “Turnkey” Screening and Separation Plant for MSW, PAper and Cardboard in Spain with TROMMEL
CAMEC has recently installed an important “Turnkey” Screening and Separation Plant for MSW, Paper and Cardboard in Spain including:
a Rotating Drum Screen (Trommel), two Sorting Cabins with relevant conveyor belts and material storage bunker and a System in a Feeding Pit Plant where collection trucks directly dispense the materials to be treated.
The ROTATING DRUM SCREEN (Trommel) allows the separation of the material into two or three differently sized fractions and provides several selectable options. The size of the holes in the screen can be chosen between 8 and 200 mm.
Inside the screen, the material is transported through the drum by a welded helical fin, which guarantees high productivity.
The large diameter of the drum makes them suitable for screening and recycling of household waste, industrial waste and for sorting construction rubble.
The incoming material is fed into the slowly rotating screening drum via a conveyor belt. A helical fin, inside the screening drum, continuously conveys the material towards the discharge end of the drum. The screened material exits the machine through the holes in the drum plate while the oversized material is conveyed and discharged to the opposite end of the drum.
The GRIDS are built with interchangeable segments with holes of different sizes according to the customer’s needs.
Depending on the material to be screened, the screens can be round or square.
The angle of inclination is 4 °, and allows for optimal separation of the material and the advancement of the coarser fraction in the direction of the discharge end.
On request it is possible to automate the inclination of the screen by means of a hydraulic system.
The FRAME at the base of the machine consists of a tubular steel structure with 4 supports where the housing wheels are fixed.
The drive unit, bearings, protective doors and material chutes are mounted on the frame. There are large access doors on each side to facilitate maintenance operations.
The TROMMEL is electrically operated and is intended for static use generally as part of a plant.
Made with perforated sheets of considerable thickness and robust and highly wear-resistant materials, it has a high degree of efficiency, reduced installation times and requires minimal and very simple maintenance.
The remote control of the screen functions allows easy monitoring and quick setting of the operating modes.
Operation is guaranteed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even in harsh conditions.
Installation and Operation:
The CAMEC rotating screens allow the screening of the material or waste in 2 or 3 fractions, distinguishing it in:
- “under screen” material (the one that goes beyond the holes in the sheets)
- and “over screen” material (what remains above the perforated sheets, that is, the one that has larger dimensions than the hole in the sheets themselves)
It is used for:
- the selection of bulk materials,
- in recycling as part of process lines,
- or in crushing and screening / sorting plants
CAMEC rotating screens work efficiently even with sticky and clogging materials.
Optional: Dedusting plant
To reduce dust and noise, the drum area can be completely closed. The roof area is also equipped with flanged connections that allow the installation of a dedusting system.
The base frame also includes guide plates and slides at the drum entry and exit positions such as the fraction collection area, to guide the material accordingly.
The front and rear slides are coated with a plasticized surface to promote “sliding” and equipped with rubber strip curtains to reduce noise and dust.
Optional: Automatic cleaning device
The outer surface of the drum is smooth and can be equipped with an optional cleaning brush or scraper which, by rotating on the outer side of the Trommel, frees the screen holes from any clogging due to fine material.
